What is RSS?

What is RSS?What is RSS?  Many people keep asking what RSS is, so we thought it might be a good idea to add a page explaining what RSS really is.

Are you wanting to stay up-to-date on the latest posts from Blog Worthy?

We offer many ways for you to stay connected and read the latest content.

You could bookmark our page in your browser (or set it as your homepage), but this method is becoming more and more out of date.  The problem with ‘bookmarking’ is that you have to manually return to your bookmarked sites.  This creates a problem because you might miss out on the latest content if you forget to manually check each site, and you might waste your time visiting the bookmarked site if they haven’t updated their content.

RSS changes all of that!  Technically speaking, RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’.  Simply put, RSS is a way for you to get a fast list of the latest headlines from all of your favorite websites and blogs all in one place. Pretty cool, eh?  The content is updated as frequently as you’d like.

How do you use RSS?

  1. You need to sign up for an RSS Reader.  There are many to choose from, but I prefer, and use, Google Reader.  It’s free and simple to use.
  2. Sign up for some feeds and start playing around with it.  You can subscribe to our feed to get a feel for how it works.

Still not comfortable with RSS?  You can also subscribe to Blog Worthy content via email.   You can unsubscribe at any time and your email will be kept private and not used for any other purposes than to send these daily updates.
